Herb Workshop

The herb workshop grows medicinal plants in our organic / biodynamic garden, which are harvested at the optimal time and processed into a variety of products. These include oils, creams, ointments, tinctures, lotions and dried teas. We also pick wild plants in the vicinity. Wherever possible we use organic herbs and oils.

Labelling Bottles in the Herb Workshop

Our aim is to produce high quality natural products using Anthroposophical understanding of man and nature. Our products are not sold, but those wishing to obtain items are asked to make a suitable donation.

Sorting Herbs in the Sun

The herb team typically consists of one or two co-workers together with three of four students while Richard "sits at the computer and looks important" (quote by Carla!). The garden team, guided by Duncan, helps the herb team to look after the herb beds.

Of the tinctures we make, nearly all are from our own organically (biodynamically) grown plants.

Hypercum Oil basking in the Sunshine

The tinctures are also used for making our lotions, creams and ointments. Most of our teas are from our own-grown or wild crafted herbs.

Our garden is now Demeter registered.
